The 21 century Caravanserai is a Vatican alias and information center as urban oasis that sits on a vacant triangular site, the Piazza del Toro, in Rome. It is a cultural threshold as an urban gateway that leads to the Vatican. The motive for this design is derived from the urban infrastructure of Rome in which the streets frame the facade of the central cathedrals to draw people’s attention. So the caravanserai is divided into two buildings to enclose the facade of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini and on that path, there is hidden wall that shows a map of Rome that stands to welcome and attract people’s eyes.
